Flash TV Static PreloaderFebuary 2010

What started out as a "hmmm I wonder if I can an create a static effect as in the older television sets i grew up with?" progressed into a nifty little project for flash development. I wrote a class in ActionScript 3 that displays television static and a percent counter while an image is loading. Just apply the class to each image you are loading in flash and everything is sized and taken care of in the background. Then once the image is loaded the TV static slides out of view revealing the loaded image.

This first example simply calls upon the class to utilize the preloader.

This next example demonstrates the use of a circular mask with the TV Static preloader.
